Athlete’s foot also know as tinea pedis, is a skin infection caused by fungal overgrowth.  Fungi love moist, warm conditions, so tinea treatment involves keeping the skin clean and dry and using anti-fungal preparations such as medicated anti-fungal powders, creams and washes.You usually need to use the creams for about four weeks, or for at least one week after all visible signs of infection have cleared.
