Thrush during Pregnancy
Thrush during Pregnancy
It’s quite normal to suffer from thrush during pregnancy. Actually, you’re far more likely to get thrush when you’re pregnant, because the pH balance of your vagina changes at this time.
Thrush is a fungal infection caused by yeast called Candida Albicans. Most of us have this fungus in our system, but it is controlled by the body’s natural systems, and so usually it doesn’t cause any problems.
However during pregnancy, the conditions inside our bodies change, and the different pH balance, encourages the yeast to multiply, giving cause to the irritation of thrush.
